ABOUT US
ABOUT US:
Global Christian Scholarships was created as a way to further the message of Christ throughout the world by the Michael Gott International Evangelistic Association. Michael and Jan Gott have given over 50 years to the full time effort of sharing the gospel with a world in need of Christ. As their ministry transitions over the coming years they know that it will in no way diminish, but instead broaden, as they equip a younger generation of Christians by providing the necessary financial support needed to prepare for a life of Christian ministry. Whether in South America, Eastern Europe or Asia, young Christians with a call from God on their lives can apply for financial educational help on this globally available website.
OUR HISTORY:
The idea for funding Christian education for others was born out of an experience that came early in Michael Gott’s evangelistic ministry. As a young college student, having limited preaching practice, Michael was invited to speak in a homeless shelter and small new church in Bryan, Texas. After having preached both Saturday night and Sunday morning, with the $35 honorarium in his pocket, Gott was driven to the edge of town by a church member and dropped off so that he could hitchhike back to college.
No cars stopped for him - and it began to rain. Michael looked for shelter and soon found himself sitting on a bucket under a bridge in the pouring rain with no way to get back to school. Wet and alone in the darkness Michael cried out from his heart to God, “Lord, please show me what you want me to do with my life - I need you to show me what I am supposed to do.” During his time under that Texas bridge some clear impressions came to him, among which was this: “I want you to educate other young people I have called into My service” which was almost funny to Michael as he sat there with $35 to his name and no idea how he would be able to pay for another 3 years of college that laid ahead of him.
Nevertheless, Gott never forgot the impression he had that night on the side of the road, and since that time, educating God’s servants has been a burning focus - and the Global Christian Scholarship program is an exact fulfillment of that moment.
